Cotyledon tomentosa - Bear’s Paw

Cotyledon tomentosa (commonly known as Bear’s Paw) is a charming succulent shrublet from South Africa, prized for its plump, fuzzy leaves. Each leaf is covered in fine hairs and tipped with reddish, tooth-like notches that resemble tiny bear claws. Plants typically grow to about 30 cm tall and form compact, branching clumps. In spring to early summer, they produce clusters of bell-shaped, orange-red flowers on short stalks. Like many succulents, Bear’s Paw thrives in well-drained soil, bright light, and requires only minimal watering, making it a favourite for collectors and container gardening.
